Scotia Bank Calgary Marathon Promotional Weekend

Come show your support for the amazing runners participating in the Scotia Bank Calgary Marathon. The Calgary Zoo thought it would be nice to decorate Zoo Road so that runners passing by on May 27th between 7 AM and 9 AM will feel the support Zoo guests have for their efforts and community spirit.

Day One:
When: Saturday May 26th
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Where: Destination Africa.
What: Help us create a fun and supportive banner for Zoo Road. Zoo Volunteers will have lots of banner paper, markers and crayons for guests to write or draw messages of support and best wishes. We will then take the banner and post it along  Zoo Road so all Scotia Bank Calgary marathon runners can see how much our guests support their efforts.

Day Two:
When: Sunday May 27th
7:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Where: Zoo Road – West end of the Calgary Zoo.
What:  Before spending your day at the Zoo, come down early to show your support for the Scotia Bank Calgary Marathon runners! Guests can position themselves outside the west gate or on the west parking lot to cheer on runners as they race each other in support of over 50 Calgary based charities.

  FOCUSED
June 9th, 2012 – 7:00 am to 9:00 am

It‘s a well known fact that the Calgary Zoo has some of the city’s most spectacular morning light. So often, photographers are not given a chance to experience this wondrous time at the Zoo. Moreover, it is often difficult to snap the perfect shot of your favourite animal because the Zoo is so full of energetic people. It’s for these two reasons that the Calgary Zoo has decided to host an early morning photography event for photographers of all skill levels.

FOCUSED provides photographers with an opportunity to #getFOCUSED, and photograph the Zoo grounds, gardens and animals during the magnificent morning light and without interruptions or crowds.

When photographers arrive they will have access to all of the Zoo’s grounds. Guests will be provided with a schedule of all animal enclosure and building opening times and are then welcome to roam around the Zoo at their leisure.

Tickets on sale now until June 1st (or until tickets are sold out).
Tickets cost $30 for the general public

Tickets cost $15 for Engage and Inspire Members, and can only be purchased by calling 403.232.9300.
