Customer Service Clerk - Retail

JOB SUMMARY:

Working in the Zoo's gift shops.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serving customers
  • Handling sales transactions
  • Re-stocking merchandise

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for obtaining the cash bag prior to starting and counting and remitting cash bag at end of shift
  • Responsible for balancing one's cash

SUPERVISION PROVIDED AND RECEIVED:

  • Reports to Manager and/or Assistant Manager of Retail Operations

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years experience in cash handling or retail sales OR
  • 1 year cash handling plus one year retail sales experience
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Great customer service skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs, clean & stock shelves, sweep, vacuum & mop floors
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Responsible, reliable & mature knowledge of English, verbal & written
