Lead Hand Custodian

The Custodial Department of the Calgary Zoo is seeking a high-energy individual to provide leadership and strong contribution to our Custodian group. As part of the Custodial team, the successful applicant will have a minimum of two years demonstrated relevant experience leading a team, and will be responsible for acting on behalf of the Manager of Custodial Services (in his absence) in ensuring the following duties are completed:

•  Maintaining all public buildings and washrooms in a clean and presentable manner daily
•  Ensuring the Event Tent and all Signage throughout the Zoo is kept spotless
•  Keeping all Zoo grounds (including parking lots) free of garbage, litter and debris.
•  Cleaning of Viewing Bay and Glass, and any other cleaning related duties as requested
•  Ensuring team commitment to service excellence through the prompt delivery of exceptional customer service at all times

The Lead Hand Custodian must be able to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, weekends, holidays and evenings. A current Class 5 Alberta Drivers License, Grade 12 education and the ability to communicate in both verbal and written English are all essential requirements for this position.

Physical Demands: This highly mobile position requires excellent stamina and physical health. The ability to work well both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, is essential.
