Senior Services Bus Driver

Part-Time

The Senior Services division of the Community Education Department is responsible for running the Senior Services program. This program gives local Senior Citizens the opportunity to visit the Calgary Zoo. Reporting to the Coordinator, Senior Services, the Senior Services Bus Driver is responsible for the driving the Zoo's 15 passenger Zoo bus to bring local Seniors' groups into the Zoo for 2 hour tours. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Bus checkout
  • Driving to the Seniors' location
  • Picking up and bringing seniors to the Zoo
  • Assisting with the tour or other related duties
  • Driving the Seniors back to the pick up location
  • Returning the bus to the Zoo and completing the post-trip check out
  • Occasionally driving a club car for tours and assisting seniors with mobility issues on walking tours on Zoo grounds (tour training will be provided)

Candidates will bring the following qualifications and experience to the position:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Clean drivers abstract, Class 4 driver's license
  • Ability to work with Seniors
  • Knowledge of the Zoo would be an asset

Conditions of Employment :

  • Part- time, occasional driver position (approximately 2 or 3 trips per month)
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule including days, weekends, stat holidays and evenings.

Physical Demands: This job involves full mobility in all weather conditions, some lifting of medium loads and contact with the public.
